Generic relationship between components. Components can be produced independently.

Unique relationship between components. Components need to be produced in coordination or install a standardized modular system.

Supermodular relationship between components. There are three possible ways supermodular relationships:

• The more Component A is produced the cheaper or with better quality Component B is produced.
• The more Company A is engaged in producing Component B, the better the Component B is.
• The more activities Company A performs, the more efficient company B preform its activities.
