The usage of the dynamic capabilities depends on managers, who are responsible for:

• Sensing opportunities and threats
• Exploiting resources to address sensed opportunities and threats
• Renewing the competitive advantage providing qualities of the resource base

Note that all three actions mentioned, are exploration part in exploration vs. exploitation tension in organization, and hence they should be mindfully managed through structural separation, behavioural integration, or sequential alternation of actions.
