Subtypes
- World — a whole world or plane of existence; the root of a Place hierarchy. One per parallel world, plane, or dream-realm.
- Realm — large political or cosmic region within a World (kingdoms, continents, sub-planes).
- Region — geographic area without firm political boundary (the Black Marshes, the Spine).
- Settlement — city, town, village, camp.
- Site — specific point of interest: dungeon, ruin, shrine, battlefield.
- Structure — a single building or constructed thing (a tower, a bridge, a tomb).
- Natural Feature — named river, mountain, forest, sea.
