# Lore Ontology
updated 2026-05-05 · created 2026-05-05 · 1 min read

Claims, narratives, transmitted knowledge — what people in-world say is true. Treat as in-world primary sources. The truth itself lives in Laws or on the relevant entity page; this category is the firewall.

A prophecy claiming a Character will rise from the dead is filed here, and the Character page records it as “claimed by [prophecy]” — never as fact.

Subtypes

  • Myth — foundational story, usually about deep past.
  • Legend — story about a named figure or event, possibly historical.
  • Prophecy — claim about the future.
  • Song / Poem — performed work with cultural weight.
  • Record — chronicle, register, or annal.
  • Rumor — unverified current claim.

Common fields

type, subtype, source, age, region, reliability (confirmed | partial | dubious | false), world, tags. Use a gm_truth section for the actual truth behind the claim.

Common relationships

told by People / Organization, claims about Entity / Place / Event, contradicts Lore, contained in Document.
